Early this morning during the half-awake sleep that happens between snooze-button hits I had a series of strangely vivid dreams. In one sequence I was racing around town in a small stick-shift car (not unlike my 1st modest vehicle the Toyota Tercel). I was trying in vain to get my kids to daycare on time, but was being thwarted by traffic and construction-closed roads. As I raced down a side-street (that looked like Chicago) I noticed a woman with an unusually large white owl on a leash - WTF?! As I approached I slowed because I wanted the boys to see this unusual sight. Our approach caused the owl to take flight, and it tore the leash free of the woman's grasp. She was frantic and angry, but the owl lighted on a tree about 20 feet up. I stopped and leaned out the window wanting to help. I called to the owl and it immediately flew to my arm, feathers flying everywhere. Although startled that it swooped down so confidently to my arm without a sound, there was no fear of the great, winged creature. I let my boys pet it as the woman approached to grab the leash. The grand bird's plumage seemed more like cat fur than feathers and the boys remarked so. The (now thankful) woman took the grand owl lovingly and we went on our way. HMM?
What does 'teh internets' say when I look for interpretation?:
Dream Interpretation Owl, owls (link)
The owl is a symbol of wisdom, seriousness and thoughtfulness. Dreaming of an owl in the dream means that your judgment of a personal situation or a person was correct. It also could mean that some vague matter became much clearer. Seeing an owl in the dream may also mean that you should take good advice from others. Hearing an owl screeching denotes bad luck, frustration, grief or sadness. Catching an owl or seeing an owl in the cage means that you should be careful of weird people and bad company.
