1st Day of School! 3rd and Kindergarden

They Were Friends

A pic of Max (left) the wonder frisbee dog and his momentary pal Blackears (a stray that I was showing compassion for). Blackears was named by 3.0 because, well, he has black ears... He showed up when the temp was over 100 degrees for a couple of days. He jumped the fence to get in and was sharing Max's food/water for about a week. I would not let the kids near him as he did not seem very socialized. He seemed to be getting along with Max until I gave them each a rawhide bone to chew on. Blackears stole Max's bone and a fight ensued. Max got seven stitches and lost a tooth (see below). Blackears was chased out of the yard (over the fence with a smack to the ass). He came right back an hour later while I was with Max at the vet ($199).

Tried to be nice, but Blackears has no business at our home and Animal Control is the only option.

Max's Stitches

Tough dog, didn't even flinch, or show any sign of injury. Had to roll back the skin to even see the wound. The Dog Doc patched him up and other than his embarrassment over his new haircut Max seems not to notice the wound at all.

Feelin 42

This remodel thing has me feeling my age. Here is a list of what I've accomplished so far followed by a list of To Do's left:

COMPLETED!:

1. French Drain and Sump Pit to control drainage
2. Empty Garage, Paint, new workbench and shelves, new back door
3. Remove 12 ft sliding glass door from Family room
4. divide Family room into Office/Bedroom and smaller Family Room (Frame walls,insulate, electrical, Drywall, etc.
   
5. Add new 8 ft sliding glass door for Family Room and outside door for Office
6. Paint ceilings (thanks Pop)
7. repair fence and add two new gates
8. Fix front yard
9. Trim trees (from roof with 14' pole saw (ouch))
10. Replace all appliances
11. prep all walls for paint
12. Upgrade/Replace Front Door and Front Storm Door.

Still left:

1. Paint all interior
2. baseboards all interior
3. new carpet
4. new tile in office, and dining room
5. Paint all previously painted woodwork (kitchen done and appliances installed!)
   
6. Install french interior door for office/bedroom
7. add closet for office/bedroom
8. replace kitchen garbage disposal, sink fixture and plumbing
9. replace kitchen lights
10. add ceiling fan to MBR, Office and Family room
    
11. Paint exterior/shingle siding on eaves
12. replace front porch tile
    
13. replace/repair front porch posts
14. insulate attic
15. Run speaker wire for Office and Family room 7.1 systems
16. Get DirectTV sat installed and wire 5 rooms for sat
17. Add water softener
18. Add exhaust fan Master bath
19. Add exhaust fan/light kitchen
20. Replace light laundry room
    
21. Landscape Front yard
22. Deck/landscape/tool shed for backyard
23. Fell one or two more trees
24. Repair back yard fence
25. Add pavers between sidewalk and house
