What's In The Box??

So, as most of you who know me are aware I recently acquired a Volkswagen GTI MK5. The vehicle is excellent and I feel extremely lucky to have finally been able to find myself owning it. Truly inspires the driving passion, this girl. After 2500 miles in about three weeks it is most evident that she infinitely tops the modest/utilitarian vehicles I've owned/own... (well maybe not the Bandit, but anything on 4 wheels anyway lol).

Yesterday I got a visit from the browntruck and found this on my doorstep:

So anyways it turns out this is a truly cool promo for the GTI। Not as cool as the guitar that plugs into the AUX jack, but cool nonetheless. I threw some 3M velcro adhesive (hook side) on each foot of this badboy and mounted him on the rear carpeted trunk cover facing forward so he can give me some backseat driving inspiration...

Social Media Journey Unfolds - Check It Out

On January 26th of this year there was a blog posting over at twistimage.com titled, Social Media Journey, that told a very cool story about how the rock band Journey had discovered their new lead singer, Arnel Pineda, through YouTube. It is a great example of Social Media in action. The band managed to contact Arnell directly through the channel - no need for couriers, managers, record labels, or survivor-style TV competition.

And now, for the rest of our story-

Checkout this vid which is the first live show of Journey featuring Arnell on vocals (and man, does he deliver the goods). The show took place last night (February 21) at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival in Viña del Mar, Chile. Isn't it interesting to also note how fast content like this now travels and is made available to the masses?

Take a look:

Selective Amnesia

"I've never done any favors for anybody — lobbyist or special-interest group. That's a clear, 24-year record," he [McCain] told reporters in Detroit.

Oh, really?

Wolves and Books

@Washington Irving Elem there was a book fair this week. 2.0 and I attended alone and we had a great time. There were characters reading passages from their respective novels. Above Professor Dumbledore reads an excerpt. Afterwards we bought a couple of books for 2.0 and a couple off of the teacher wish list for his classroom. Great nite!
